PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable centering with high accuracy, to realize stable disk rotation with high accuracy by decreasing vibrations and to maintain these even in a high-speed rotation region of the disk. SOLUTION: The disk clamper has a turntable 33 rotated by rotational driving means 10, aligning means 36 for aligning the disk D which is a disk-like information recording medium placed on the turntable and a retaining plate 34 fixed so as not to rotate relative to the turntable and used to hold the disk by holding the disk between itself and the turntable. The retaining plate has converting means 41 for converting inertia forces G1 and G2 of the disk acting on the rotation of the turntable to the pressurizing forces of the retaining plate onto the disk.
