PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity passage width adjusting device for an automatic vending machine for automatically adjusting width of a commodity passage to match diameter of various kinds of commodities. SOLUTION: When a small-diameter commodity is contained, a connection shaft 323 of a passage width adjusting plate 32 advances toward a lock lever, so that an interval between the lock lever and a connection part is narrowed to match the small-diameter commodity. When a large-diameter commodity is contained, a locked state of the connection shaft 323 is released by an engagement/disengagement member 34, so that a lower end of a lower plate 322 moves downward by the load of the commodity through a shaft slide groove 332a to extend an upper plate 321 and the lower plate 322 vertically. The connection shaft 323 retracts from the commodity passage to enlarge the interval between the connection shaft 232 and the lock lever to match the large-diameter commodity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
