PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To performing a pattern matching fast with a simple configuration in an SIMD type microprocessor. SOLUTION: In an image processor including the SIMD type microprocessor having a plurality of processor elements, each processor element has a data transferring device connected to a data transferring port for accessing embedded universal registers from the outside of the processor. The data transferring device has a lookup table for performing table conversion and a plurality of registers for storing the data stored in the lookup table and for pipeline delay. A synthesized data of the outputted data from the data transferring port and the register data for the pipeline delay of the lookup table's output is used as the input address of the lookup table.
