PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selectively receiving or deleting mail in an internet mail apparatus capable of selectively receiving or deleting the mail. SOLUTION: This method of receiving the mail in the mail apparatus comprises a step (a 217th stage) of receiving at least a mail header information and storing the mail header information, a step (a 225th stage) of making the mail requiring instruction for selectively requiring the transmission of the mail among mail acquisition control instructions which consist of 1 or 2 or more instruction based on the mail header information and transmitting at least the mail requiring instruction and a step (a 227th stage) of receiving at least a mail instructed by the mail requiring instruction.
