PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose both a safe side failure and a dangerous side failure of an output circuit by a simple configuration in a duplex system device. SOLUTION: The duplex system device has a synchronizing means of synchronizing operations of MPUs of each system, inter-system interface means of exchanging data of each system, output means respectively connected to a system bus of each system and having an output side of each output circuit connected to another device in a wired OR state, sensors detecting each output state of each output circuit, a stopping means of alternately stopping outputs of either one of the output circuits for a predetermined time when a drive output to the other device is being carried out, and an output circuit diagnosing means of diagnosing that there is a failure in an output circuit when output data of a sensor regarding a stopped output circuit is a logic value '1' or output data of a sensor regarding an operating output circuit is a logic value '0'.
