The insert for a packing box consists of a blank (1) of corrugated cardboard or similar, and has a bottom (3) and two diametrically opposite strip-type wall sections (7) which are attached to the bottom by pre-scored fold lines (5) and are bent relative to the bottom by at least 90 degrees. Each strip-form wall section on the side which is the outer side after bending has a section coated with an adhesive (9) and which is covered by a withdrawable protective strip (11). An independent claim is included for a packing box with the proposed insert.
