The invention provides an apparatus (10) that separates solder from solder dross (65), comprising first and second rolls (15, 20) and a fixture (23). The first roll (15) has a substantially cylindrical surface and is rotatable about a first longitudinal axis. The second roll (20) has a substantially cylindrical surface and is rotatable about a second longitudinal axis parallel to the first longitudinal axis. The fixture (23) is coupled to the first and second rolls (15, 20) and spaces the second roll apart from the first roll (15) by a first distance, such as 0.001 to 0.015 inches, the first distance sufficient to separate a solder-dross mixture (55) directed between the first roll (15) and the second roll (20) into a liquid solder (60) and a dross powder (65) when the first and second rolls (15, 20) are rotated in opposite directions. |
