PURPOSE: A method is provided to maintain a stable discharge by easily ensuring a uniformity of heights of barrier ribs during the barrier rib firing process. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step of forming barrier ribs(18) on a lower substrate(10); a step of disposing a weight member(30) having a surface with a uniform roughness on the barrier ribs; a step of firing the barrier ribs; and a step of removing the weight member from the barrier ribs. The surface of the weight member contacting the barrier ribs has a separator film(30') which prevents the glass paste constituting the barrier ribs from being adhered to the weight member during removal of the weight member. The separator film is formed by coating the surface of the weight member with a chrome or alumina, or depositing a solvent for surface separation on the surface of the weight member. |
