摘要 PURPOSE: A method for forming a (2x2) by (2x2) matrix switching module is provided to reduce the number of switching stages and execute a 3-dimensional interconnection having many input signals and output signals. CONSTITUTION: In an interconnection network for transmitting information among many processors and between a processor and a memory, four detectors receive an output binary signal of the previous stage as an input signal. The remaining five detectors receive a control bit which decides a path of an input signal from the previous stage to the current stage. An output path of an input binary signal received from the detector is decided by the control bit and the input binary signal is transmitted to an output terminal. The transmitted signal is delivered to the next stage using four light source arrays. A control bit necessary for the next stage is delivered by five light source arrays and an optical window.
