PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a drive capable of loading/ejecting a card-like and disciform optical disks. SOLUTION: The opening shape of an inserting and removing port 60 is formed by integrating respective opening portions (inserting portions) of an inserting and removing port 60a for inserting and removing a card type CD 46a and 8-cm CD 46b and an inserting and removing port 60b for inserting and removing a 12-cm CD 46c. The opening width B1 of the inserting and removing port 60a is slightly wider than the width, 85 mm, of the long side portion of the card type CD 46a. The opening width B2 of the inserting and removing port 60b for the 12-cm CD 46c is slightly wider than the maximum width, 120 mm, of the 12-cm CD 46c. In the interior of the drive, a pair of transport guides 62a, 62b for guiding a transport system path used in transporting a recording medium 46 as far as a prescribed rotation position are provided on a housing (not shown) in such a way that the recording medium 46 is sandwiched by the opposite sides of the transport system path.
