A mail collection point has a number of mail-boxes (9) and at least one large front door (4,4') carrying a number of smaller individual doors (5) for the mail-boxes (9). The mail-boxes (9) are formed from vertical intermediate walls and from horizontally inserted mailbox bases or floors (6), the latter being stopped by blocking devices (17) when the large door (4,4') is closed and each floor or base (6) is retained in the rear part of the mail collection installation (1) by at least one further stop, so that with the door (4,4') closed lifting or lowering of a floor (6) or base with access to an adjacent mail-box (9) is not possible.
