An oxidation and/or bleaching system is disclosed, comprising: a) oxidoreductases such as laccases and/or peroxidases applied individually or in combination, in the presence of the corresponding co-substrate 0<sb>2</sb>, H<sb>2</sb>0<sb>2</sb>, organic peroxides, per-acids etc., for the activation of compounds of the class of oxohydrocarbons, the class of urazoles and hydrazides, the class of hydantoins and the class of nitriles (cyano) compounds and b) additional carbonyl compounds (ketones, aldehydes) are applied which can form active oxygen species, such as dioxiranes, dioxetanes and peroxy compounds, amongst others, or other reactive compounds, or transition states such as radicals, cationic radicals, anionic radicals or reactive (redox-active) neutral compounds with the activated compounds.
