摘要 A method for carrying out arithmetic operations in which each binary position of the binary number is formed by a rotary element which is set into one or two possible rotary positions, corresponding to the respective binary value '0' or '1'. With each addition of a '1', the rotary element corresponding to the LSB binary '0' of the relevant binary number and the rotary elements belonging to the binary positions lying underneath, all undergo an inversion into the respective inverse rotary position. With each subtraction by '1', the rotary element corresponding to the LSB '1' of the relevant binary number, and the rotary elements corresponding to the binary positions lying underneath, undergo an inversion into the respective inverse rotary position. An Independent claim is given for a device for carrying out the given procedure.
