The present invention relates to a fumigant comprising ethyl formate as the active agent combined with a diluent in a quantity sufficient to render said fumigant non-flammable while at least retaining the efficacy of the active. The invention also encompasses packaged fumigant products, methods of producing fumigants as well as fumigation methods.
