PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data gathering method in a sensor system capable of completing data gathering, and capable of reducing the receiving port number by immediately executing data gathering processing when receiving the first notice from sensors. SOLUTION: The sensors 11a to 11n store event detecting data in an internal memory 12, and informs the data to a receiving port 21 of a center gathering device 20 by transmission lines 13a to 13n. This notice data are also sent to a receiving circuit 23. The receiving circuit 23 informs a polling type gathering circuit 24 of the data when receiving the first detecting data to a generated event. The polling type gathering circuit 24 executes polling to the sensors 11a to 11n via transmission lines 14a to 14n from a polling port 22 when receiving notice from the receiving circuit 23, and gathers the detecting data stored in the memory 12 of the respective sensors 11a to 11n, and outputs the data to a data processing circuit 25.
