PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a USB connector for allowing inverse insertion of a USB plug. SOLUTION: The inverse insertion can be allowed by arranging a first plate part 73 retreatably arranged in the inserting direction of the USB plug 60 in a connector shell 71, a second plate part 75 laminated with the first plate part 73 in the connector shell 71, and retreatably arranged in the inserting direction of the USB plug 60, a first contact 77 arranged on an opposite surface of the first plate part 73 and the second plate part 75, and capable of contacting with a contact 57 of a plug plate part 53 of the inserted USB plug 60, a second contact 79 arranged on an opposite surface of the second plate part 75 and the first plate part 73, and capable of contacting with the contact 57 of the plate part 53 of the inserted USB plug 60, a first energizing means 81 for energizing the first plate part 73 in the opposite direction of the inserting direction of the USB plug 60, and a second energizing means 83 for energizing the second plate part 75 in the opposite direction of the inserting direction of the USB plug 60.
