COLOR PURITY CORRECTION STRUCTURE FOR FLAT CATHODE RAY TUBE

PURPOSE: A color purity correction structure is provided to prevent degradation of color purity by offsetting influences of earth magnetic field through the use of magnet, while reducing mis-convergence and distortion. CONSTITUTION: A flat cathode ray tube comprises a funnel; a screen panel(12) coupled with the funnel and which has an inner surface on which a phosphor screen(121) is mounted; an electron gun mounted in the funnel and which emits electron beams toward the phosphor screen; a mask(18) mounted on the inner surface of the screen panel and which discriminates colors of electron beams emitted from the electron gun; a deflection yoke for deflecting electron beams emitted from the electron gun; a rail(21) attached to the screen panel and which supports the mask; and a magnet(30) mounted in the vicinity of the mask and which corrects shift amounts of electron beams caused due to the earth magnetic field.
