PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip-type thermistor and a method for manufacturing the same, for preventing corrosion, which is due to electroplating of a thermistor element in the vicinity of external electrodes, with an easy and low-cost method. SOLUTION: The external electrodes are, respectively, formed on both ends of the thermistor element, and layers of diffused inorganic materials are formed on the thermistor element in the vicinity of the external electrodes, respectively.
