IMAGE ENCODING METHOD AND EDITING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To band-compress an input image signal in units completed with a predetermined rate and then to replace and edit data in units of completion.

SOLUTION: An input image signal is band-compressed in units completed by an encoding means 10 and a first bitstream is recorded in a recording means 11. Confirmation of a compressed image is conducted by an image evaluating person based on an output of a display means expanded by an encoding means 18. A position to be exchanged is instructed by an instruction means 12, a parameter to be band-compressed is extracted by an information extraction means 13 and band-compressed by an encoding means 14. After the image confirmation, a second bitstream is recorded by a recording means 15. Editing is controlled by a control means 17, and the first bitstream the second bitstream to be exchanged are edited by an editing means.
