CONNECTOR FOR SURFACE MOUNTING AND ITS GAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for surface mounting which is small in size by adding a contrivance to the form of each contact arranged in three rows or more, and provide a gage capable of examining flatness of a terminal part of each contact easily.

SOLUTION: Both lower external wall parts of an insulator 2 are formed on a deleted part 2B. A trapezoidal two-stage groove 2C is formed on the center of the lower external wall of the insulator. A bent part 3B and the terminal part (soldered part) 3C are formed continuously on the lower part of each contact 3 in four rows fixed to the insulator. Both front ends of each contact in tow rows arranged on right and left sides do not protrude beyond right and left side walls 2E of the insulator. Gaps 6B2 and 6B4 are formed between both protrusions 6D of the gage 6, and the center protrusion 6B3 and the bottom surface 6B1 of the recess 6B of the gage 6. Each terminal part must be flat because it comes into contact with each protrusion when a receptacle connector 1 slides in a direction orthogonal to space with respect to the gage.
