<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically transform the coordinates of three-dimensional shape data provided by a three-dimensional shape measuring instrument into system coordinates. <P>SOLUTION: This three-dimensional likeness generating device is provided with the first means for finding a straight line to minimize the sum of distances to a sequence of points of the gravity centers, using the gravity centers of the three-dimensional shape data divided by a plurality of optional XZ planes in the coordinate system in the three-dimensional shape measuring instrument as the sequence of the point, and for conducting transformation for making the found straight line serve as a Y axis with respect to the three-dimensional shape data, and the second means for rotation-moving the three-dimensional shape data transformed by the first means, with combination of rotation-moving using an X axis as the center, and rotation-moving using a Z axis as the center, in a coordinate system of the three-dimensional shape measuring instrument, for finding a position to minimize the sum of the shortest distances to the Y axis defined by the first means from all the apex data, and for defining the Y axis in the position as the Y axis for the coordinate system of the system coordinate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
