PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video server control system and a composite source recording method by providing a simpler system in the case of recording a composite source to a video server so as to reduce the system cost and producing a composite source with a simple method so as to relieve the load of an operator. SOLUTION: The video server control system includes a video server for recording a composite source, a plurality of reproduction devices for reproducing video and audio signals of a plurality of individual sources being components of the composite source, a changeover device for switching reproduction signals such as video and audio signals outputted from one of the reproduction device to the other reproduction device and giving the result to the video server, a controller for controlling the operation of the video server, a plurality of the reproduction devices and the controller and an edit terminal for receiving control data to the controller.
