PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail system capable of simply receiving/ transmitting mail in multi-languages because it is difficult for a mobile phone or the like to transmit/receive mail in foreign languages other than English. SOLUTION: The electronic mail system 1 includes: an image conversion means 12 for converting characters in foreign language mail into image data; a mail recording means 13 for recording mail data; a mail access information transmission means 15 for transmitting mail access information for browsing mail; a mail display means 16 for displaying a browsed menu of the mail including image data; a language code conversion means 11 for converting character data entered in e.g. Roman characters into a foreign language; an image conversion means 12 for converting the converted character into image data; a mail confirmation display means 14 for displaying the confirmation screen; and a mail transmission means 17 for transmitting mail in the foreign language according to an instruction of mail transmission of the confirmation screen.
