The present invention relates to a diagnostic test method for in vitro determination of allergy and other forms of hypersensitivity, wherein the presence or absence of the Gm allotype G2m(n) in serum from a patient is determined. The presence of G2m(n) indicates an atopic disease, whereas the absence of G2m(n) indicates a non atopic disease.
