PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting inferiority of a liquid crystal display panel and a method thereof are provided to detect and repair inferiority of the liquid crystal display panel in one process. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display panel(100) has a plurality of data lines and a plurality of gate lines crossing the data lines. An inferiority detecting unit(200) detects inferiority of the liquid crystal display panel. A pulse generating part generates a predetermined pulse. A pulse receiving part receives a predetermined reflective wave. An inferiority detection control part controls the pulse generating part to apply the predetermined pulse to the data lines or gate lines, and checks the reflective wave received from the pulse receiving part. If the inferiority is checked, the corresponding inferior data and coordinates are supplied to a repairing device for requesting repair.
