<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply to public and advertising display panels in the configuration of a sign tower with a lamp such as an outdoor advertising tower, a time table for trains, a terminal for a bank and a neon sign on the inner/outer wall surface or the roof of a building by enabling a great reduction in driving voltage while saving manufacturing expenses in a simple manufacturing method without using a dielectric zone layer and barrier ribs, separately. <P>SOLUTION: In this AC driven plasma display element for a sign board with a lamp and its manufacturing method, a transparent electrode 2 and a metal electrode 6 are formed outside the element, grooves are formed in parallel to the electrodes by cutting a glass at its opposite side and a discharge cell 11 is formed with the cut grooves in contact with each other. Thereby, upper and lower plate base glassed, substituted for the barrier ribs, a transparent dielectric and a while dielectric, are used as the dielectric zone layer, these are cut to form the discharge cell 11 and the electrodes are exposed to the outside of the discharge cell 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
