A process for coating a surface which comprises applying a composition comprising an amine aldehyde resin, a reactant bearing carboxylic acid groups or derivatives thereof and a Lewis acid, followed by thermal curing. The process is of value, for example, in the manufacture of abrasive products, where the composition serves as a make composition or size composition, or both, to hold abrasive particles on the surface of a backing. |
