The sheet stacker has a curved stacking section (3) below the sheet cutter (1). This has a recess at its top, into which the sheets fall. Because of their rigidity the sheets form a curved stack which is held by a front stop (17) downstream from the stacking section. Independent claims are included for: (a) a folding machine fitted with the stacker; (b) an ink jet printer for magazines fitted with the stacker; and (c) a method for stacking sheets using the stacker.
