PURPOSE: A magnetic recording/reproducing system is provided to determine the position of a sub-deck with respect to a main deck when the sub-deck is loaded in the magnetic recording/reproducing system. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic recording/reproducing system includes a main deck(100) supporting a head drum(110), and a sub-deck(200) slidably set on the main deck to approach to and separated from the head drum when a cassette tape is loaded and unloaded. The magnetic recording/reproducing system further includes a position determining unit for determining the position of the front end of the sub-deck with respect to the main deck when the sub-deck is loaded. The position determining unit is composed of a support bracket(150) and a position determining protrusion(210). The support bracket supports a driving motor(120) that provides power for loading/unloading the sub-deck and has a position determining recess(151) at one side. The position determining protrusion is protruded from the front end of the sub-deck and inserted into the position determining recess.
