PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead acid storage battery which can be mounted on the engine room of an automobile suitably and in which the electrolytic solution filled in the lead acid storage battery can be increased. SOLUTION: The lead acid storage battery 10 is enclosed by a battery case 11 that houses a positive electrode and a negative electrode, a lid member 12 that encloses the battery case 11, a positive electrode terminal 13 and a negative electrode terminal 14 that are jointed to the positive electrode and the negative electrode and protrude to the outside from the lid member 12, a plurality of filling holes 15 that are provided at the lid member 12 and capable of filling in the battery case 11, and a protruded filling plug 16 in which the filling hole 15 protrudes from the upper face 12A of the lid member 12 and a flat filling plug 17 in which the filling hole 15 does not protrudes from the upper face 12A of the lid member 12.
