PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an address book managing system capable of dealing with a plurality of updates performed for same address information by a plurality of servers. SOLUTION: An address update client 203 of a client computer 201 exchanges update information of the address by command response operation between the address update client 203 and a server/switchboard/peripheral equipment 211. An address editor part 204 updates the content of a local address book 202 by the instruction from an input/output part 205 and accumulates old data in an address book old data storage part 206. An address update server 213 of the server/switchboard/peripheral 211 exchanges the updated information of the address between the client computer 201 and the server 213 by command response operation.
