Multi-purpose sealed bag (I) comprises lower regions of the bag bordering the transverse seam at the front and rear sides are fixed at the base (10). This applies to the completely-filled and closed bag, and also to a bag which has been opened, and from which at least a part of the contents has been removed and dispensed. The greater the spacing (a-d) between the corner points, the greater the capability of the bag to stand upright and the more flat the top becomes, in relation to the base.
