A waveguide coupling device comprises a waveguide section 1 in which a guided wave may be propagated in at least one waveguide mode and which has two slits 4, 5 in one of its walls 2. The waveguide mode has a field component parallel to the slotted wall with a nodal plane oriented in the longitudinal direction of the waveguide section, and/or it induces in the walls of the waveguide section 1, 1' a wall current distribution with just such a nodal plane. The slits 4, 5 lie on opposing sides of the nodal plane. The slits 4, 5 lie on opposing sides of the nodal plane. One or two antenna sections 7', 9' bridge the first slit 4 or both slits 4, 5.
