A demountabel wall assembly that includes a plurality of wall panels (25, 26) each having two opposite edge portions that include two laterally spaced abutements and two recesses each located behind a respective one of the abutments. Adjacent abutting wall panels are connected by a connecting member (29) located between the wall panels (25, 26), the connecting member (29) having two opposing ends each having two tongues that extend outwardly therefrom and wherein one of the tongues is locatable within a respective one of the recesses.
