PURPOSE: A wireless LAN access point using a universal computer device is provided to execute a bridging operation for connecting with cable networks of user computers by being wirelessly connected to the user computers, thereby carrying out an operation of an existing access point. A program unit(110) has a predetermined access point program to carry out access authentication, bridging functions, cell formation, and roaming functions. A network connector(160) sets predetermined Internet access information, and performs a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) and an NAT(Network Address Translation) function to assign an IP to a user computer. A network authentication information storage(120) stores a predetermined SSID(Service Set Identifier) and WEP(Wired Equivalency Privacy) key information while authenticating access of the user computer. A filtering information storage(130) stores predetermined transmission path information of wired/wireless MAC frame data.
