Gas mantel and process for its production

Gas incandescent body comprises an oxide structure contained on a ceramic base. The structure is a mixture of yttrium oxide, cerium oxide and a further oxide. The mixture further contains beryllium oxide for stabilizing during production of the oxide structure. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a gas incandescent body. Preferred Features: The oxide structure contains at least 97.6% yttrium oxide, maximum 1.8% cerium oxide and maximum 0.6% beryllium oxide. The oxide structure is reinforced by a magnesium/aluminum salt mixture in the fixing region with the ceramic base.
