The invention relates to an infrared radiation detector particularly used for tracing the occurrence of possible radiation sources or for preventing these radiations from exceeding a certain level. In order to enhance the reliability and reducing the sensitivity, the detector comprises two phototransistors (FT1 and FT2) in differential connection by means of two Darlington groups (T1, T2 and T3, T4). The signals from the collectors of transistors (T2 and T4) are brought on the input of a OR gate whose output signal may actuate an optical or sound warning device.
