<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stairway allowed to freely set the plane shape, the number of steps, the gradient, and the like of the stairway. <P>SOLUTION: Each step of the stairway 10A is composed of a stepboard 6 and a lateral pair of support members 1 for supporting the stepboard 6. The support member 1 has a stepboard placing part 1a on which the stepboard 6 is placed, a front side connecting part 3 formed on the front end side of the stepboard placing part 1a, and a rear side connecting part 4 formed on the rear end side. The front side connecting part 3 of the support member of the upper step is inserted in the rear side connecting part 4 of the support member 1 of the lower step to connect the support members 1 of the upper and lower steps.
