RECOVERY METHOD FOR RADIOACTIVE RARE GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovery method for a radioactive rare gas in which a waiting period until a reactor top cover is opened is shortened and in which a radioactive contamination in an environment can be reduced. SOLUTION: In the method, the radioactive rare gas existing inside a nuclear reactor is recovered from a space inside the reactor top cover 3 in a state that a reactor water level is raised to a part near a reactor-top-cover flange 3a in a closed state. An air introduction pipe 12 and an intake pipe 18 are installed in a small-diameter pipe 16 which is attached to the reactor top cover and which is installed in the top part of the reactor top cover or near the top part, air is introduced to the inside of the reactor top cover by the air introduction pipe, and a gas inside the reactor top cover is sucked into a radioactive-gas treatment apparatus by the intake pipe.
