PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for determining a steering angle that can detect the steering angle of a steering wheel and determine the number of rotation of the steering wheel. SOLUTION: Two gear mechanism elements 1 and 2 are sequentially mounted on a common axle L and have an operative connection to a drive element which is driven by the steering wheel, and they are relatively rotated when the steering angle changes, and a steering angle determining device is formed in which a code carrier is formed by one of the two gear mechanism elements 1 and 2.
