PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical continuous method for producing a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer having a high heat stability and a very high elasticity. SOLUTION: This continuous method for producing, at 13-250°C, a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer having a glass transition temperature lower than 50°C comprises reacting (A) a polyether diol having a number average mol.wt. of 450-10,000 and an average number of Zerewithinoff active hydrogen atoms of 1.8-2.2, (B) an organic diisocyanate, and (C) 1,4-di-(2,2'-hydroxyethyl) hydroquinone in the presence of a tin dioctoate catalyst in an amount of 10-1,000 ppm based on reactant A.
