<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing molten chromium-containing steel having≤20 mass% chromium contents by incorporating one or more kinds of special elements of W, Mo, Co, Pb, Cu, V, Nb, regardless of silicon contents in the molten steel and using chromium-containing steel scrap. <P>SOLUTION: The chromium-containing steel scrap containing the one or more kinds of W, Mo, Co, Pb, Cu, V, Nb, etc., is melted and after making the molten iron alloy having≤20 mass% chromium content, metallic oxide and/or oxygen-containing gas are used as the oxygen source, so as to become 1 to 4 mass% carbon in the molten iron alloy and 2 to 20 slag basicity after dephosphorizing treatment and 1350 to 1500°C molten iron alloy temperature just after the dephosphorizing treatment. In this way, the Cr-containing low P steel excellent in heat resistance, long time creep characteristic, oxidizing resistance and steam-oxidizing resistance, can be produced at a low cost without any operational trouble. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
