PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide amorphous tin oxide sol having no ammonia odor when used and used for a conductive material having excellent transparency and conductivity of a formed coated film, and to provide a manufacturing method for the amorphous sol. SOLUTION: The amorphous tin oxide sol obtained by hydrolyzing a tin halide compound to form tin oxide slurry and then making the formed tin oxide slurry solate is manufactured through a stage for dispersing the tin oxide slurry in a solution containing water soluble resin after a stage for adjusting halogen ion concentration per 1 g tin oxide in the tin oxide slurry to be≤0.1 mg.
