PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device for a recording medium and a recorder provided with the receiving device with a simple structure capable of easily changing a working state in transportation, delivery of the recording medium or the like. SOLUTION: The receiving device is provided with a turnable receiving part 410 receiving the recording medium, and a swingable supporting part 420 supporting the receiving part. The working state is changed by turning the receiving part, swinging the supporting part and supporting the receiving part at a predetermined turning position by the supporting part. By this, since the structure of the receiving device simply composed of only the receiving part and the supporting part, by only setting a plurality of predetermined turning positions for supporting the receiving part by the supporting part, it can correspond not only to a working state in delivery of the recording medium but also to a working state in transportation or the like.
