PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article transferring device capable of reducing a weight of a whole device. SOLUTION: In the stacker crane, a carriage 2 capable of retaining an article is liftably supported on front and rear strut frames 11 constituting a traveling frame body travelably provided on a predetermined route. Guide grooves 36 provided at front and rear ends of the carriage 2 and guiding a guide member 32 provided with guide rollers 34, 35 are formed on inner sides of both strut frames 11. This guide groove 36 is constituted from a large recessed part 36a capable of passing the guide member 32 therethrough and a small recessed part 36 provided on a center outer periphery side of this large recessed part 36a and guiding the guide rollers 34, 35.
