<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow only a both-sided paper re-feed passage to be used as a part which is optionally used, by using a branch means to a second paper ejection tray as a branch means for a both-sided function as well and by switch- backing transfer paper at the second paper ejection tray, thereby inverting the transfer paper. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device has first and second paper ejection trays 25 and 31 which are disposed one above the other in such a manner that one is above an image forming section A and the other below a scanner unit. The image forming device also has a vertical carrying path B along which transfer paper is carried face up from a paper feed means to the first and second paper ejection trays. In the image forming device, a carrying branch means 33 which is used for switching a carrying direction and a paper ejection roller 30 which is rotatable in a normal/reverse direction are disposed in that order above a fixing unit 6. On the open side of the image forming device, where the vertical carrying path is disposed, a door unit 19 for covering/ uncovering the vertical carrying path and a paper re-feed unit 26 including the both-sided paper re-feed passage and a carrying roller are provided so as to be selectively attached/detached. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
