METAL CHELATE COLORANT FOR INKJET RECORDING, AND AQUEOUS INKJET RECORDING LIQUID AND INKJET RECORDING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal chelate colorant for inkjet recording which, even when used for recording on plain paper, provides a high print quality, gives a record image with a distinct color tone, is high in a concentration and has light resistance, and is excellent in colorant solubility and long-time storage stability; and an aqueous inkjet recording liquid using the same.

SOLUTION: The colorant is a water-soluble azo metal chelate compound which is formed from a metal compound and an azo compound represented by formula (1) (wherein X1is an arbitrary substituent; (n) is an integer of 1-4; and Ar1is a specific naphthyl group having a chelating group and optionally other substituent groups). The aqueous inkjet recording liquid using the same is also provided.
