PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peeling device for an image forming apparatus carryout out stable destaticizing and peeling by increasing the discharge efficiency of a plate state discharge electrode by using a peeling device making use of the plate state discharge electrode. SOLUTION: In the peeling device 7, a post transfer guide 9 to guide transfer material 5 peeled off from a photoreceptor 1 to a fixing device, the plate state discharge electrode 10 which is a high electric resistance body provided with a specified resistivity and two pieces of shield plates 11a and 11b are provided and voltage is applied to the plate shape discharge electrode 10.
