The protective mask (1) is designed to be attached to the frame of a pair of sunglasses or prescription spectacles (2). It has two holes (4) for the eyes and fastenings for the spectacle frame in the form of two tapering sleeves (7) at the sides and a tongue (11) with a press stud for the nose bridge. The mask is supple or semi-rigid, and can be made from a padded material, foam or fabric.
