PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor hardly producing cracks by using a coating liquid for a charge transfer layer coating having excellent stability and in particular, causing little changes in the molecular weight of the binder resin. SOLUTION: The coating liquid for a charge transfer layer contains a charge transfer substance, a binder resin, a solvent and an acid component having≤4.0 pKa acid dissociation constant in an aqueous solution, and the coating liquid has 0.0001 to 0.05 part by weight of the acid component content with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the binder resin. In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer deposited on a conductive supporting body, the charge generating layer contains a compound having a metal element as the charge generating substance, while the charge transfer layer contains a charge transfer substance, a binder resin and an acid component having≤4.0 pKa acid dissociation constant in an aqueous solution. The content of the acid component in the charge transfer layer is 0.0001 to 0.05 part by weight with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the binder resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
